A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Grefenstette brings to CCG broad experience in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, finance, strategy and commercial law. Prior to co-founding CCG, Mr. Grefenstette served as a Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Advisory Group of PNC Capital Markets, Inc., the investment banking subsidiary of PNC Financial Services Group Inc. of Pittsburgh. He has originated, structured and executed transactions and provided advisory services to small and middle market companies in various industries, including manufacturing (construction equipment, material handling equipment, magnetic cores, plastics), heavy equipment rental, e-marketing and communications, print media, and consumer products distribution. Before entering the investment banking field, Mr. Grefenstette practiced law with O'Connor Cavanagh, P.A., in Phoenix, Arizona, where his practice focused on complex commercial litigation. Mr. Grefenstette returned to western Pennsylvania in 1994 to co-found the law firm of Bowes & Grefenstette, P.C., where he represented and advised small and mid-sized businesses and individuals on litigation, transactional and strategic matters. Mr. Grefenstette earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, from Georgetown University and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. He also earned a Masters of Science in Industrial Administration (MBA) from Carnegie Mellon University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration, with concentrations in Finance and Strategy. In addition to serving on the Boards of Drive Plus, Inc., MicroMod Automation, Inc. and Hodge Foundry, Inc., Mr. Grefenstette is active in several regional organizations and presently serves on the Board of  Shady Side Academy.
