Sridhar R. Tayur

Dr. Tayur is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of SmartOps , an e-business that utilizes an integrative, web-based framework to optimize inventory management and to provide tools for collaboration in multi-stage supply chains.

Dr. Tayur is a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and President Elect of the Manufacturing and Services Operations Management (MSOM) Society, the largest society of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). Dr. Tayur's papers have been published in Management Science, Operations Research, and Mathematics of Operations Research, among others, and he was co-editor of the widely referenced book, Quantitative Models for Supply Chain Management.

Dr. Tayur has consulted for and implemented systems at many firms including GE, Intel, and Caterpillar. He has won teaching awards at CMU and was voted one of the "Best Professors" in a Business Week survey of MBA students.

Dr. Tayur received his PhD in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and his undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras.
